You too can sit on a horse and learn to play polo - even if you've never ridden before. And you can learn the game at any age!

The Club can direct you to various programs for children as well as adults.

In addition, Club Members, many of whom have evolved from just being a polo spectator or fellow equestrian from a different equine discipline, will help you get started. Just contact them before or after a game and they can provide the necessary information.

For those of you that would like to trade your seat on the sidelines for a horse on the tie lines, we have an active polo lesson program literally “right down the road”. Take RT 83 down (south) to Mukwonago, take a right on CR-I. Polo University (Polo U) operates out of High Meadow Farm (HMF) under the direction of one of the top instructors in Polo, Tom Goodspeed. Polo U starts new players in either an indoor or outdoor arena on horses that are selected for their quiet temperament. The more confined area allows you to work on developing the necessary skills for open field play. HMF also has a smaller grass field for coaching chukkers where students then graduate to the regulation sized fields. The only thing you need to get started is a pair of boots and the desire to ride. Come by yourself, bring a friend, bring your significant other, your children, or bring a whole group. Polo has traditionally been a great family sport. Horses are a wonderful past time for younger riders to keep them involved in a healthy interest. Introductory lessons include:

CEO Polo Intro Lesson Series - 4 lessons $500
Polo U is in a controlled arena on very safe mounts. CEO Polo is a series of lessons to experience this great game without the pre-requirement of riding skills. A four lesson package designed specifically for interested business professionals. There is one group lesson/week that will introduce you to the six main components of polo; horsemanship, malletwork, defensive play, strategy, rules of play, and game format. Upon completion of the sessions, you are welcome to continue with group or private lessons to further develop your skills or simply walk away with an awesome overview of the sport and a wonderful memory. Package includes instruction, horse, and equipment. All you need is either boots or low-heeled shoes.

The Royal Family & Friends Group Lesson Experience - A single two hour session-$100/adult, $50/child 12 and under
Looking for something your royal family can do together or a very unique experience for a group of friends? What a wonderful way to even the playing surface. Try something entirely new that your entire family or group can enjoy. You may only be walking or trotting around the arena, but you will feel like you are at full throttle as you head to goal for a score. Nestled in the heart of the Kettle Moraine, Hillside Farm is located on 22 private acres in the secluded hills of Richfield. Just around the corner from Cabela’s, Hillside Farm is a short ride from Milwaukee, Brookfield, and Mequon. With over 80 years of combined experience, our trainers can assist both horse and rider, regardless of your age, experience level or chosen discipline. We are also offering beginner polo lessons on Monday nights and Saturday mornings, with additional opportunities for polo for our students on Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons. We have a polo league for our students on Friday nights from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm which are open free to public spectators. All held at Hillside and all lessons are run year round.
